We are dealing with hidden joy, bringing it to life..
And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.Mark 10: 47,49,52 NKJV
Blind Bartimaeus, the name used for God’s child. Made in the image of God. When our eyes are closed we can’t see who we are speaking to, what is the colour of our clothes. You may even have kids and not even see them. Imagine how he suffered from sorrow. He surely didn’t experience any Joy. Tough times are a burden, they sap out all your strength. They make you forget that there is a God, that formed you. But..if you can listen carefully, like Blind Bartimaeus, and apply your faith.
Your Joy can be restored. Christ can give you back what the locust has stolen. That way…you will sparkle and be God’s Radiant Joy-filled, joy- exuding, joy-giving light. God’s joyful disciple. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring forth this fruit in your journey to being His Radiant child. May His joy transform you and guard your heart. Be of good cheer.
Lord, restore my joy, just like You did for Blind Bartimaeus. May You re-activate all that the locust has stolen from my life. I want to be more than a Radiant Light, I want to see myself in You Lord. Holy Spirit fill me up with joy…in the name of Jesus.
