Now may the God Who gives the power of patient endurance (steadfastness) and Who supplies encouragement, grant you to live in such mutual harmony and such full sympathy with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,Romans 15:5 AMPC
…May the God Who gives the power of patient endurance…Remember there is nothing that too difficult for God. He is the Father of all gifts. He even dishes out patient endurance. This means that He knows there will be delays… I am now thinking about Abraham and Sarah, at their extreme old age, God blessed them with a child. How many of us can wait that long? We are faced with a lot of teenage pregnancies, or pregnancies out of wedlock because we fail to wait. We don’t trust God to give us patient endurance.
Marriages and families are easily destroyed because we lack patience. Lord forgive us. We leave our jobs at the first sign of drama that we encounter. Do not trust your own understanding, have confidence in God. “God-fidence”
God also supplies us with encouragement. From the Old Testament to Revelations, His Word is full of encouragement. This Word is always fresh, alive, and refreshing…It has His breath. It is a supernatural Word that can turn a prostitute into a preacher…Check Rahab’s story. You will know the power of God’s Word. Anyway…back here…Rahab is a story for another day.
When we lean on God He will ensure that we all live in harmony. At church premises, as families, and as a nation. We will be like oil flowing down Aaron’s beard. God bestows His blessings where there is unity and harmony. He is not a confused God. He loves order.
Jesus Christ was sympathetic. As co-heirs with Him and His friends, we need to be sympathetic to the needy and those around us. When He came across a hungry crowd, He never dismissed them but made sure He feeds them by multiplying what was available. Like the young guy’s bread and fish. And by being sympathetic to others, we are sowing into the spiritual realms… like the disciples, we will go home with baskets full of leftovers.
Trust in the God of patient endurance. Messiah. The Lover that is coming for His bride.
Heavenly Father we thank You immensely for all the gifts You provide us with. In the Mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
