Psalm 119: 45I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.
Seeking God’s precepts offers us an opportunity to walk in freedom. His Son, Jesus Christ liberated us from the shackles that could have bound us till eternity. Through the sacrifice of giving up His own life for us, by grace we found redemption. Paul says in Ephesians 3:12 that in Christ and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.
This freedom that Christ has given us is to be enjoyed, not endured. It is not some form of legalistic rituals, but approaching our Father in heaven with freedom and confidence. It is about putting on the breastplate of righteousness. This freedom is about knowing and understanding that the Lord is faithful, even in the midst of enemies He prepares a feast. In Christ there is no more fear, there is no decaying. Christ has removed the yoke of slavery. Our minds no longer conform to the standards of the world, but are rather focused on God.
So if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed. John 8:36
Let your life be a beacon of hope, because Christ has set you free. A life filled with Christ’s eternal freedom does not harbour bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words. This life forgives because in Christ we are more than conquerors. In the natural it may seem like a daunting task to follow God’s precepts, however when we understand that He has imparted His Spirit unto us, the Spirit of truth that will always guide us to righteousness, it becomes easy to please God.
Forgiving those that have hurt or offended is the greatest freedom that you can gift yourself with.
Let go of the trespass and cast all your cares to God. Forgive and free the other person from the weight of the past. Move forward in Christ. Do not let your heart be hardened by holding on to bitterness of yesterday. In your anger, do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry (Ephesians 4:26). Free your heart from the torment of the transgression. Let the past go.
Give God a chance to do what he is capable of, healing. May His Word transform you. Let love lead, because God is love. Let love heal and free your heart. May Christ’s love roll from your lips and be the mediation of your heart. May all you do glorify God.
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
