Through being acquainted with our Heavenly Father’s Word and fixing His Word in our hearts, we gradually become thirsty for more of Him. We are now thrust into a space where we pray without ceasing. We learn to pray in season and out of season. Prayer becomes our first weapon of defense. Prayer is simply communicating with the Lord as you would with a close friend. Remember Jesus is the only friend that sticks closer than a brother, so it makes sense to be closer to His Father.
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.Psalms 42:1 NIV
We pray not only to receive what we need but also to know him. All prayer is union with God. We join our hearts, our spirits, and our longings with God’s as we touch the eternal together. Our hearts are drawn toward heaven when we open our lips and call upon his name. Any need we have must be secondary to satisfying his heart in prayer.
Jesus has also indicated that He is the only way to the Father, therefore learn to bow before Him and have a proper dialogue. Be like a deer, thirst for living waters.
Lord, I need you every day. You are the Alpha and Omega. In You, I have found streams of living water. Thank You Heavenly Father. In Jesus’s name Amen.
