my sister’s keeper

The king said to me, “What is it you want?” Then I prayed to the God of heaven, and I answered the king, “If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in his sight, let him send me to the city in Judah where my ancestors are buried so that I can rebuild it.”

Nehemiah 2:4‭-‬5 NIV

Nehemiah comes across as a responsible and compassionate brother. He heard that the walls of Jerusalem have been ruined. He cried. Strong men cry. When Mary asked Jesus where was He all along, Jesus wept. My brother, the walls of South Africa are ruined. Women and children are suffering. Mothers weep daily for their daughters. What are you doing with this situation?

Why are you not your sister’s keeper?

Nehemiah was moved by the situation in Jerusalem and purposed to go deal with it. But…he spoke to God. He prayed. Prayer is an important aspect that unlocks the heavenly resources. Pray for a programme that can teach men and young boys good morals. Do not be ashamed of doing a good thing, you will reap the rewards of your good deeds.

Commit to God what is in your heart, and He will establish your plans. He did it for Nehemiah. He received the King’s favour. Don’t doubt yourself, you are a child of the Most High God. He will lead the way.

Do not get weary along the way. Be determined to ensure that this scourge/pandemic of femicide gets eradicated. Gird up your loins dear brother. Look forth to the prize that God has for you, do good in the land that you dwell in.

Be my keeper, be your brother’s  keeper! God will remember you with favor.

Lord, in the matchless name of Jesus, we thank You for this day. Lord, we plead that may you raise up Nehemiah’s who will be moved to do good in our land. Provide them Lord with all the necessary resources to rebuild the walls of South Africa. In the Mighty name of Jesus. Amen
