“Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”Esther 4:16 NIV
We are still unpacking markers of being great disciples…as Per The Redeemer’s instructions. Matthew 28:19…Go ye and be my disciples..I will give you power and will be with you till the end of time (LM’s emphasis added).
Mordecai and the Jews were faced with a tragedy of being killed by Harman. Having his relative as the King’s wife put them in a favourable position because she had convincing powers. Queen Esther was clever, she came up with a perfect strategic plan to win the King’s heart and mind.
When faced with trouble what do you do? Do you run around telling every ear that cares to listen? Let’s quickly analyse Sister Esther’s plan.
Go gather together the Jews in Susa (Power of Unity). We need to realize that where two or three are gathered in the name of Jesus, He is there. And by having a fellowship with Him, our Father in heaven hears our pleas.
Fast for me…and I wìll also do the same….again…collaboration is important. Collaborating in Kingdom aspects provokes God and brings Him to meet us at our point of need. We also see that it is very crucial to inform God about your plans (Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:6 NLT). From the first day that we decided to heed the call, humble ourselves before God and seek His will…our prayers were heard. In due time, we will see a manifestation of God’s will.
Esther’s strategy worked. She had supper with the King and through God’s grace, the Jews’ lives were spared.
May all your strategies be built on a solid foundation. When the heavy rains come, your plans won’t collapse because they are built on bedrock. Jesus, the solid rock.
Heavenly Father, I really need to be as wise as Queen Esther. May I be a great strategist and put all of my trust in You. The Solid Rock. In the Mighty name of Jesus. Amen
